Congratulations to all North Steyne State Nipper Competitors
I would like to congratulate all competitors for their achievements and behaviour at the State Titles held at Swansea Belmont. We finished 30th out of 65 scoring clubs ( there were 115 entered ) which was an improvement of 8 places from the year before. Put into perspective we sent a team of 42, while a club to the south of us, entered 195.
North Steyne had 19 Finalists ( 15 water, 4 beach ) and a further 19 semi finalists in various events.
We finished with 1 Gold medal and 2 bronze.
Congratulations to our medalists:
Under 14 Boys Swim Team: Gold Medallists and State Champions
Jack Morrison, Will Craven, Jon Kelly & Brent Kelly
Under 14 Boys Board Relay: 3rd Place and Bronze medalists
Will Craven, Jon Kelly & Brent Kelly
U/8 Girls Beach: 3rd Place and Bronze medalist
Amy Polikowski ( the only U/8 girl to go to the carnival )
Other finalists in both water and beach were:
Jon & Brent Kelly 4th in U/14 Board Rescue Final
Jack Morrison, Will Craven, Jon Kelly & Brent Kelly 4th in Cameron Relay ( in close finish for 3rd )
Jack Morrison 9th & Jon Kelly 11th in U/14 Ironman
Jon Kelly, Jack Morrison & Will Craven all in top 20 in U/14 swim
Jon Kelly 12th in U/14 board final
Eleanor Owen 7th in U/13 Ironwoman, 10th in swim & 10th in board.
Oscar Cowell U/9 swim final
Will Gulliford 5th in U/14 Male flags & 7th in sprint.
Gemma Struk 5th in U/14 Female flags.
It was a great weekend away with both the kids and parents bonding together.
Next year’s State titles are at Kingscliff on the far north coast and it would be great to see more North Steyne competitors
going to the carnival.
Once again Well Done to all the team and a big Thank You to everyone who helped as Coaches, Officials, Water safety, Age Managers and with the general organization.
